invariably have a profound impact on the communities who host them.

Lead by David Diamond, Headlines Theatre has been operating in Vancouver since 1981. Diamond has directed over 340 community specific theatre projects tackling issues including racism, gender roles, violence, addiction, self-esteem, First Nations' Residential Schools, globalization, language reclamation among many, many others. Headlines¹ 2004 production, Practicing Democracy, was honoured with two Jessie Richardson Awards including ³Outstanding Production² and put forward over 90 policy recommendations to Vancouver City Council regarding poverty issues in Vancouver.
