EPHE Study Hall Attendants: Junior Academic Assistants

• Up to 3 positions each term (Sep-Dec OR Jan-Apr)
• Total hours: 78 (average weekly hours: 6)
• Rate per hour $13.76 probationary OR $14.11 re-appointments
• Total: $1,073.28 probationary OR $1,100.58 plus 4% vacation pay paid over seven pay periods.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Director and EPHE Study Hall Supervisor, will instruct students in the use of the facilities: McK 163 and 070. Duties include: assisting students with research projects, performing literature searches as required by faculty supervisors, supervising the use of computers and photocopier, supervising user conduct in the McK163 and McK070 (quiet) and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

Applicants who are students in an Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education program will be given preference. Applicants must have the ability to communicate with students. Promptness and reliability are very important qualities for smooth operation because other employees often have demanding class schedules so must be relieved on time. Industrious work habits are desirable.

Other criteria considered include the career and/or pedagogical value a particular position will provide to the graduate/undergraduate student, the student's preferences, and other sources of graduate student financial support being received. The School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education follows Appointment Priority Policy A described in the CUPE 4163 Agreement.
