Healthy Recipes
Cooking and eating with children is a great way to spend quality time together. It’s also a good time to teach them about healthy foods and eating habits. When children cook and eat with their parents they learn to follow recipes, measure ingredients and create healthy, well balanced meals
.
Planning and preparing meals and snacks for the week ahead is an excellent way to make sure there is always something healthy and ready to eat in your home. When preparing meals, always make enough so that there are left-overs to re-heat and eat the next day. You might also try making 2 meals at 1 time. For example, if you’re already making 1 casserole, make 2 instead - 1 to eat for dinner that night and another to freeze and eat another time when you’re too tired or too busy to cook. This way tired, hungry kids and moms will have quick and easy, yet tasty and healthy meals to come home to after a long day!
