Scope
This four lesson unit plan is designed
for a grade eight girls physical education class. The total number
of students in the class is thirteen. The facilities available in
this block is one half of the total gym area.
The objectives of this unit lesson
are aimed towards the development of the forearm pass. We will use
tactical concepts and skill development to meet the objectives for this
teaching unit.
Entry
ability
-
previous experience and knowledge of the basics of
volleyball (rules and skills).

able to prevent the ball from touching the ground
during a rally situation in a closed environment.

the students are able to make an attempt at the forearm
pass in a game-like situation.
Exit ability
-
the students will be able to maintain a rally in
an open environment.

the students will understand the importance of movement
in performing the forearm pass and volley.

the students will be able to perform the transition
between a "free-ball" and the attack.

the students will be able to point out and correct
technical errors in the forearm pass during a visual test which highlights
common errors found in the skill.
