Concept Set 1: Rules

Definition: Rules are instructions created by people. These instructions are meant to direct a certain group of people in their actions for a purpose.

Definition for children: Rules are things we are told to do, and this provides us with directions which we should follow. Rules are created for specific people, and not everyone is provided with the same rules to follow.

Justification: The examples demonstrate instructions people have created for others to follow. They have been designed with a specific purpose in mind. The non-examples demonstrate arbitrary instructions that appear to serve no purpose.
